The Complete Painting

Is it a Dog? nah.. Looks like something different. Ok, the center one looks more or less like a donkey but also a horse! So is it a hybrid? What on earth has Picasso painted. This is the most arbitrary painting I have come across. I couldn't find its head or its tail.

The output of Pablo Picasso's painting is solely because of the end of what painters call the Impressionist era where painters believed in WYSWYG (What You See is What You Get). The era of painters actually thought of producing their paintings with more colours, wierd angle projections. This Era also made painters not stick to a particular contour and paint. In Simple Words, Paint freely as you like.

Then came what we call Cubism wherein Geometrical shapes constituted the paintings.Pablo Picasso is believed to have co-founded this movement of cubism. This was a major transitional phase in the style of painting because Impressionism lasted nearly half a decade and this movement just ended that style.

Then came the Era of Surrealism, To bridge the gap between dream and reality. It is said that this surrealism was an aftermath of WW1. Painters in this time started to believe in Automatism. This was the time when random brush strokes were converted to master pieces. This era also made painters express their subconscious through random brush strokes. Picasso's Guernica came in this period.

Blood Art

From What Picasso said, Half the time he just painted what he had in his mind in the Guernica. Guernica was not painted to showcase what Picasso can do. But it was a result of outburst of Picasso's inner voice to show contempt on the Bombing,in fact the first of its kind an "Aerial Bombing" in Spain.

What happened in Guernica(City in Spain) was a carnage. 3 hours of brutal attack that devastated the hopes  of people on the market day. 61 years later Germany apologized for this action. But there is something special about this painting  Guernica. The picture makes us forget the history because of its awesomeness.

Abstractness define brilliancy when it comes to showcasing talent
Though we consider the painting as the symbol to objection to Bombing, its awe inspiring display makes us forget the history behind the strokes.

Why about Guernica?

There used to be art classes in my school days and I not being her fan,had always hated the class for no reason. Everytime, I draw some random crap she would say "நீ என்ன பிக்காசோ வா ?"
I then looked upon this wonderful artist and his works. Guernica attracted me the most because then, I did not know the history behind those randomly contrived strokes. But now, I know the history and I could see beneath those strokes. To me that makes the painting complete. It is the spectator, who can see the reason behind these arbitrary colours, curvy lines can complete the artist's thought process and get the idea which the creator wants to convey. Who knows, One day researchers can say Da Vinci painted Mona Lisa thinking of his Wife!

Every piece of legendary has some obscure source of inspiration. We people need to find it so that we  can see the real background picture.
